About
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years experience of working within the NHS in Primary Care, CAMHS, CMHT, Dentistry and General Medicine. I have considerable experience of psychological assessment and intervention with adults experiencing a range of difficulties including adjustment to long-term medical conditions and chronic illness; trauma; anxiety disorders and depression. I have expertise in working with people with kidney disease and dental phobia. I have a warm and compassionate approach to my work and recognise the impact that long-term conditions can have on a persons overall quality of life.
I can arrange an initial assessment to understand more about your difficulties and offer a safe and confidential space in which to explore these further. If appropriate I will suggest further individual sessions according to your needs . I am trained in a number of approaches including CBT. I will review your progress regularly with you.
I understand the impact mental health difficulties can have not only on the person experiencing them but also their families and other relationships. I believe in working together with clients in reaching a shared understanding of these difficulties & developing coping strategies to manage them. I welcome initial enquiries to discuss your concerns further.
