Hi! I’m Jen, and I’m a Clinical Psychologist providing evidence-based therapy within a non-judgemental and compassionate space. My specialty is the perinatal period, supporting those who experience perinatal mental health and perinatal trauma (including birth trauma or trauma related to eg hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) ). I am passionate about providing spaces for parents who are expecting or in the early years of parenthood, to talk about what they are finding difficult. I can also support to those who have experienced pregnancy loss/the death of a baby. I focus on the process of grief, and reducing parents suffering.
Through extensive training and over 10 years experience, I draw on a range of models which can support with e.g. processing trauma, building skills around coping with feeling overwhelmed and critical thoughts, and living with grief. Although my specialist is perinatal, I can also offer the above for more general difficulties not focused on perinatal.
I understand how difficult it can be to reach out when you are struggling, so I firstly want to say well done for taking that first step in looking for support. I am also trained in VIG and can support bonding between parent and child.
