About
Counselling is based on establishing a safe, trusting and non judgemental therapeutic relationship offering a regular time and place to be listened to, heard and understood and an opportunity to explore emotional difficulties. It is a way to facilitate choice, enable change, reduce confusion and discover ways of living more resourcefully, developing personal awareness and increasing self confidence. Counselling gives an opportunity to speak freely and confidentially about personal concerns, these may be work issues, stress and anxiety personal relationships, bereavement, separation, divorce, redundancy confusion or life changes.
In addition to my private practice I have over twenty years experience working for an Agency offering support and counselling to clients experiencing difficulties as a result of alcohol misuse. I also have considerable experience in facilitating courses in stress and anxiety management and in working as a volunteer for a Bereavement Counselling Servicde.
My approach to counselling is based on offering a warm and confidential therapeutic relationship, a Person Centred Approach. A place to feel safe, heard and understood. An opportunity to explore in confidence any issues that may be causing distress, anxiety, vulnerability or loss and to discover a way of achieving a greater sense of well being.
