Adolescence is a time of exploring the world and figuring out who we are and therefore relationships are fundamental in order to grow up into a happy healthy human being. Breakdown in relationships such as suffering a bereavement, not getting on with someone close to you, going through a big change or feeling lonely and isolated can lead to feeling depressed. I have seen great results using this time limited intervention and would like to help more young people get back on track and enjoying life.
I offer Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents (IPT-A). This is a time limited approach to the treatment of depression. The goal is to decrease depressive symptoms and improve social functioning.
