I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, Creative Play Therapist and Sand Tray Therapist. I support Children and Young People (from age 4 upwards) through face to face conversations or telephone support, offering in a holistic person centred led way. This enables a child or young person to express, explore and make sense of events and experiences that are hard to verbalise, process and articulate. It is a non-directive and client-centred approach to therapy that allows the client the opportunity to play out, talk about and work through feelings and emotions within a safe and therapeutic environment.
Whether your young person feels recovery through counselling is more beneficial to them or if they feel more empowered to use therapeutic, creative practice (sand tray therapy, creative arts, metaphor therapeutic play), I offer a warm, friendly and confidential environment to support them in exploring understanding and managing their emotions.
I have worked with Children and Young People with their mental wellbeing for many years, offering therapeutic support within both primary and secondary schools (heading up a Mental Health Department) and have had experience of working within the Crisis team for CAMHS. I have also had experience of working for a Bereavement charity
