Hi, I offer CBT and person centred counselling this means I accept and support you to explore ways to help overcome uncomfortable or traumatic emotions you may be experiencing. I have also trained in cognitive behavioural therapy which can help support and reframe thinking. We may have experiences in life that can be overwhelming or we are unable to make sense of the events that may have happened to us. Asking for help can be the first step for us to overcome or understand how we are feeling and the repetitive behaviour's or thoughts that can keep us in a unhealthy cycle, working together allows us to find heathy self-awareness.
I have many years’ experience of working with addiction and trauma. Addiction can be to substances, food, self harm, all which are often a symptom of trauma or stress we may have been exposed to or experienced. We can also engage in unhealthy relationships or people pleasing behaviours all things that can be a cost to ourselves and our own wellbeing.
As a counsellor and as an individual, I will offer a safe and confidential space I will respect and listen with empathy to you. I believe in individuality and I work under the BACP ethic framework . I will not advise or state how you should live your life, I will not judge your decisions. In CBT there may be set work to give self-empowerment.
