What's the closest crocodile to your canoe? In other words, what's worrying you? Is there something feeling overwhelming that keeps you from going where you want to on your journey through life? That's your crocodile. Thankfully though, a canoe is a 2-person boat. At Canoe Counselling, I join you as a guide and help, to go at your pace, in the direction you want, for as long as we choose. Person-Centred therapy holds the idea of relationship at the very centre of the work we do together - I may offer suggestions and guidance, and will support you to the best of my ability, but ultimately you are the one who gets us there!
I specialise in working with veterans and military families, as well as those from Christian communities. I have significant experience working with relationships, depression, fertility issues and anxiety. However, I am happy to work with anything you have to bring to a session, and will work with respect, empathy and non-judgementalism.
I'm here to support you through the tougher parts of your journey. I don't give out handouts or set homework (unless you ask for these things!), and rather than leading you towards an ideal 'solution', we work together to find a way forward that meets your goals and supports you in the longer-term.
