Known as Jane Peacock, my trauma informed practice is rooted in the person centred approach, it is non-pathologising and non-judgemental with a belief that it is not what is wrong with a person, it is about what has happened to a person. The sense of connection from human to human is fundamental to all our needs and I endeavour to provide a therapeutic relationship in this space with you, where you are able to feel therapeutically held, heard and validated. Such a relationship would provide a space of compassionate acceptance and allow us to explore those feelings in you which are so hard to access or experience in everyday life.
With considerable life and work experience, the value of meeting another as an equal grew increasingly important. My person centred training has focused heavily on the relational aspect of a compassionate therapeutic relationship, the additional Trauma Informed training and Autistic Awareness training has provided valuable additional skills in my practice.
Those times when things just don't feel quite right, can be really uncomfortable and confusing. The outside world goes on and there we are doing our best to manage in a sea of expectations, sometimes it feels so hard and stuff happens. Finding space to work through this safely, making sense of our stories, helps in the endeavour to find our own path.
