About
I specialise in supporting adults, adolescents, children and families struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, depression, life transitions, relationship breakdowns and bereavement. I can provide a confidential and informal space in which to explore life events, (past and present), unravel difficult emotions and understand relational issues. Using your innate creativity and creative techniques, unhelpful behaviours and negative thinking patterns can be transformed and more helpful feelings, thoughts, and behaviours developed to achieve improved emotional wellbeing and personal growth.
I am an attachment-based art psychotherapist with many years experience in varied mental health and educational settings (both mainstream and alternative) and I currently provide supervision for mental health professionals and personal therapy for counselling trainees. I can offer discounted rates for NHS workers and the unemployed.
You do not need to be 'good at' art to benefit from art therapy. The engagement with the process is the focus, not the aesthetic outcome. I can provide a secure space in which to explore unresolved emotions, process traumas and manage difficulties by helping you to identify new or different ways of coping.
