There's no right or wrong reason to speak to me and no right or wrong thing to say (or not say, maybe you just want some quiet). Maybe things just don't feel right or you have clear goals but can't get there, maybe there's this thing but... However you find yourself now, I look forward to meeting you.
I work on the understanding that lasting change comes out of a good therapeutic relationship rather than trying to jump through hoops designed by someone else. I am the therapist, but you are the expert on you, and I will work with your expertise and mine towards where you want to be.
I myself have benefited from counselling and have worked with organisations counselling people who have experienced sexual and domestic abuse, also people struggling with substance dependency. Prior to becoming a counsellor my work has included being a postman, an adult support assistant, and working in a cafe.
