I first became interested in counselling after having a brief period of therapy myself. It was this experience and the circumstances that led me to seek a counsellor that helped me to understand the vaious reasons why someone may feel the need to speak to a professional and the trmendous benefits that this can yield. To me, the most important aspect of counselling is the trust that can be built between the client and the therapist and it is this notion that you can talk openly about aspects in your life which are causing concern without fear of judgement.
I've been working primarily in the substance misuse field for over twelve years. Through this work I have come across people of all backgrounds who shared little in common expect the desire to make positive changes to their lives.
I offer a free face to face consultation and am also available to discuss any potential meeting over the phone. I'm only too aware that counselling can, for some people, be a huge step and that it is never easy to look to get some help. It is my aim to try and make this process and easy and as stress free as possible.
