The decision to begin counselling and psychotherapy can be fuelled by many questions, such as: What can I do and change to feel better? Who am I? How did I become this person? Who do I really want to be, deep down? As a practicing integrative counsellor and psychotherapist in Birmingham City Centre, I support individuals in exploring and forming meaning to their distress. I work on establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship in a safe and non-judgemental environment, enabling us to explore the concerns you may bring, your feelings and thoughts.
My counselling practice takes an integrative ‘relational-developmental' approach drawing on Humanistic, Psychodynamic and CBT ideas and practice. [Q] What does ‘Integrative' mean? Simply put, I bring together a range of theoretical models and techniques to create a tailored approach to meet your specific needs.
I hold the idea that there is no one way of understanding human behaviour or distress, we all are unique and the challenges we face are part of being human. Therapy or counselling can support you to become more self-aware, alleviate distress, find alternative ways of coping and enable you create the sort of positive changes you want to see in your life.
