I am an analytic Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist with more than 20 years experience in the NHS, both in-patient and CAMHS settings, and in independent practice. I work with young people of all ages and with parents. As well as my analytic ACP training I am informed by somatic approaches to addressing anxiety, stress and trauma and have a special interest in the most effective treatments for alleviating what gets in the way of feeling happy, secure and confident. I offer brief and long term psychotherapy with a focus on the underlying issues that are causing distress. The aim of this work is to identify and alleviate the obstacles to happiness, to make sense of challenging behaviour and feelings and to enrich relationships.
If you or your adolescent/child are struggling with difficult feelings or with difficult relationships you may find it useful to engage in a process of finding meaning and understanding in what is going on. Often it is helpful to make sense of things before one is able to change them. This is the focus of psychotherapy.
