Group-Analytic Psychotherapy & Ind. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, EMDR
I am a qualified group analyst, psychotherapist and counsellor. My accreditation is with the UKCP. I have experience in working with people who suffer from depression, anxiety, relational and relationship issues, and people who are recovering from addiction. I also work with people who have work-related stress, as well as those who have suffered trauma. I have had specialist training in EMDR, which can treat trauma as well as phobias and other anxiety disorders. Many people seek therapy for a whole variety of issues and life events.
Group & Individual Psychotherapy is exploratory and free associative. You say what is on your mind, and another group member or I, if in indvdiual responds to what you have said. This acts as a chain reaction for thoughts and feelings from the past that can resurface in order to be explored by the group or by me in the here and now, including dreams.
Approaching a therapist for the first time and speaking to a stranger about your personal life can feel daunting initially. However, once you get through those initial and understandable anxieties, you can be surprised by how helpful it can be to talk with someone you have no prior contact with. Being listened to in a safe space, there is nothing like it.
