Therapy can be a powerful tool for addressing the effects of trauma and helping individuals heal.
The approach to trauma therapy is deeply rooted in creating a safe and supportive environment where healing can unfold at a comfortable pace. Understanding the neurobiological effects of trauma is crucial to effectively implementing trauma-informed practice. This knowledge informs strategies that promote safety, trust, and resilience and prevent re-traumatisation.
In my practice, neuroscience is applied to support healing in the aftermath of trauma.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS-trained Practitioner, and a Trauma-Informed Stabilisation Treatment Certified Therapist. I hold certificates as an NLP practitioner and a Narcissistic Abuse Specialist. I have become accustomed to combining these therapeutic methods to facilitate a reconnection with the body and self.
My therapeutic work is grounded in Contemporary Psychotherapy. This integrative solution-focused model combines and utilises the main models of psychotherapy, from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to Humanistic and Existential theories, as well as Ericksonian hypnosis.
