I work with clients who normally function well in their daily lives but are currently experiencing feelings of stuckness, frustration, or a lack of direction or meaning. This can be the result of a number of life events, such as a loss (e.g. of relationship, employment) or an interpersonal conflict, accompanied by feelings of low mood, disappointment, a sense of meaninglessness and, occasionally, anxiety that is difficult to explain. The clients I work best with are curious and motivated to explore their thinking patterns, emotions, and behaviour. They are willing to be challenged and to try new, more satisfying ways of being.

Sometimes we can find ourselves overwhelmed by what life is bringing and feel unable to see a way through. You might be going through something difficult or finding yourself continuing to be affected by your past. You might notice that you’re often feeling stressed or down, maybe there’s a specific change you want to make, or perhaps something just doesn’t feel right and you’d like to take some time to explore and make sense of what might be going on. Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling, taking that first difficult step to reach out shows courage, and commitment to your own well-being.

Our many experiences in life , the messages we may have taken from these and how they may now play out in our lives can impact on us day to day. However this is often out with our awareness as a result of habit. The difficulty can be identifying what these are and actually recognising that there are different perspectives and alternative ways that we can learn to cope and function in a way that feels healthier. Using a CBT approach we can work collaboratively to explore and understand your problems further, and begin to identify possible unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours that may currently be causing you difficulty .

The Global COVID-19 situation is an anxiety provoking time for all and the uncertainty has perhaps had a detrimental impact on your mental health. It has affected people in many different ways such as excessive worrying, fearing the worst, feeling isolated and unmotivated due to change/lack of routine, sleep disturbances and perhaps digestion problems. The recent restrictions and guidance around self-isolating means that you may be finding it difficult to access face to face therapy at this time, but that doesn't mean that you have to wait. Now is the perfect time to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own home.

Sometimes we can feel stuck in life, and find ourselves caught in a cycle of unhelpful behaviour patterns or ways of relating to ourselves and others. We may feel conflicted, anxious sad or depressed but don't know why. We want to understand ourselves better and to be understood by others. REDUCED COUNSELLING RATE! A warm welcome to you. The Coronavirus is affecting all elements of our lives at the moment. There is a lot to deal with that may be eased from seeking emotional support through counselling. You may also be looking for counselling for wider issues that have been present in your life and have been effecting you from before the virus began: in your home, childhood, relationships, work, family and social life. These may have been exacerbated due to enforced isolation at this time. Whatever the reason you are seeking counselling i am looking forward to hearing from you.

Integrative Counsellors
Integrative therapy in G3 refers to therapy in which elements from different types of therapy may be used. Therapists 'integrate' two or more therapeutic styles (e.g. Cognitive and Family Systems) to bring about a personalised and practical approach to healing. These G3 integrative therapy Counsellors practice an integrative therapy style.

Integrative therapy (with a small 'i') may also refer to the process of 'integrating' the personality by taking disowned or unresolved aspects of the self and making them part of a cohesive personality whole. It reduces the use of defense mechanisms that inhibit spontaneity and allows flexibility in solving emotional problems.

How can I tell if a counsellor is right for me?
Counsellors and therapists in G3 are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, you can find CBT Therapists in G3 who focus on a specific issue, as well as DBT Therapists in G3 who help clients with new skills to manage their emotions and relationships.
