I work as an ‘integrative’ therapist, which means that my way of working is based on combining several of the major approaches to therapy such as humanistic, CBT, psychodynamic and solution-focused.
We all deserve happiness and psychological health, sometimes we just need a bit of support to achieve it. I’m a qualified therapist & coach and I specialise in self-esteem and confidence issues, anxiety, low mood and stress & burnout.

I facilitate clients to discover the resources inside them to move through life's struggles. Difficult, painful, or confusing experiences can feel hard to make sense of alone, so having space to explore them in new ways and perspectives can help process and digest what is happening. Whether you are feeling stuck, anxious or restricted in your current situation, I provide a safe space for you to reconnect to your inner capacity to live the life you chose with understanding and vitality.

I provide a safe, gentle and non judgemental space to talk. As an integrative counsellor, I accept that as individuals we are all unique and have different needs when seeking therapy and support. I believe that it is ultimately the relationship between the client and therapist that is fundamental for a trusting, understanding and safe therapeutic alliance and this allows for the opportunity to explore your feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour.

I also have knowledge of a range of other therapeutic approaches which make my practice integrative and provide different lenses from which I can conceptualise clients’ difficulties.
I am a Chartered and Registered Counselling Psychologist who adopts a pluralistic framework based on the premise that no one therapeutic approach is superior, and different clients are likely to benefit from different therapeutic methods at different points in time. The pluralistic position puts the client and their needs at the centre of therapy and is based on working collaboratively. I honestly believe that people are experts of themselves but with help from trained professionals they can have a better understanding of themselves and the reason(s) for their behaviours.

I’m Laura, an integrative counsellor working online with adults across the UK, and beyond.
All of us experience times of difficulty when we feel sad, anxious or low. This may make us feel overwhelmed or stuck in life. Sometimes lost and directionless. Many of us have a constant feeling of not being quite good enough, or having low self esteem or a weak sense of self. We often need a bit of extra support to uncover our strength and resilience again.

I believe no two clients are the same and so I take an integrative approach.
I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space to explore any concerns that you wish to bring. As we have all felt lost, alone or unheard at some point in our lives, I think that everyone can benefit from counselling. It is powerful to have a space just for you to talk through the issues that are affecting you and are important to you with someone who is there just for you. Counselling is not always easy and can bring up painful or difficult memories. However, we will go at your own pace and the rewards can be life changing.

I am an experienced integrative psychotherapist who draws on different models depending on what is helpful.
Therapy can help us to understand ourselves, identifying areas of struggle to find a way to change and live a more fulfilling life. Sometimes there is a traumatic incident in our past that we start remembering or we start experiencing general anxiety, depression or relationship issues. Often we have an idea about what we need to do but are unable to move on and feel stuck. I believe that talking about things is helpful. It is a way of dealing with our difficulties and a step towards a different path.

I practice Integrative Psychotherapy with Psychodynamic, Existential and Humanistic theories.
I believe that therapy can help you see your current situation in a new light, with more depth and clarity. It can change unhelpful perspectives and feelings about yourself and your life, and ultimately help you make positive changes. It might be the most important and satisfying journey that you will ever make. Most of my clients are either dealing with a parental wound, childhood trauma, relationship problems, difficult endings, or are professionals challenged by stress, anxiety and/or low mood. I also help clients with addiction and attachment issues and those with couple and family difficulties.

Whether you’re in crisis, struggling, feel like something's missing or simply want to enjoy a better quality of life, welcome. I'm an integrative psychotherapist with 8 years experience in the NHS and in private practice. I draw on different approaches, though mainly I work in an embodied and relational way. Embodied as most of our life stories are stored in our bodies and it's very important to work with the body in order to have more lasting results. Relational as the therapeutic relationship is where most of the healing happens. I work in a non pathologising way so I won't try to fix you or treat you like you're broken.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I work from an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
Life itself is complex and through no fault of our own brings up many challenges that can lead to worry, anxiety, self-criticism, stress and low-esteem to name a few. As a clinical psychologist, I am flexible in my approach and work with a range of difficulties. I strongly believe therapy can be such a rewarding experience and the importance of creating a safe space in offering a non-judgemental and compassionate place for a person to feel heard and understood as we work together towards what is important to you. As such, issues relating to past or present, it is a space to create self-awareness and further move towards your values.

I work in an integrative, relational way.
Hello! My name is Matt. I work with clients who are looking to make a change. That might be change from how you think about yourself, your relationships, your professional life, or something else. I want you to feel like change is possible. To believe that within yourself is everything you might need to find a new way of feeling or being. You just need a little help getting there. That's why I specialise in anxiety, depression, low-mood, intrusive thoughts, trauma and eating disorders. These are all things that can, with help and support, begin to lose their intensity and hold over who you think you are.

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
