It is important that we reduce any mental health symptoms you may be experiencing so that you can cope with and enjoy your day-to-day life. But my view is that psychotherapy can go beyond simply reducing symptoms to actually gaining a much deeper understanding of who you are, what is most important to you and finding your place in the world.
I am an integrative therapist, which means that I draw on different techniques and schools of thought to help you to overcome whatever it is you might be struggling with at the moment.
I am trained as an integrative humanistic counsellor and cognitive behavioural therapist. I also incorporate psychodynamic and existential thought into my practice.
With every client I listen in a non-judgmental way, and help you to unravel the current situation or headspace that you find yourself in. We may choose to work with ‘here and now’ feelings or look back at memories from your past to uncover any old wounds that may still be causing issues in the present.
