Dr Schreiber is a qualified clinical psychologist and psychodynamic psychotherapist with an interest in understanding emotional distress in the context of past and current life events and experiences in relationships.
As such, she understands distress as inter- and intrapersonal conflicts. Therapy can provide a space for these conflicts to be explored, understood and, hopefully, let go of.
Sociocultural and political context are important in making sense of distress; therefore, part of therapy can also be to explore autonomy, and where patients can have an impact on their lives, as well as the limitations to this.
Dr Schreiber is a BPC accredited psychodynamic psychotherapist and HCPC registered clinical psychologist. Her work is psychodynamic and focuses on how experiences of relationships and life events impact on how people experience themselves in the here and now, some of this will play out in the therapeutic relationship and can be explored and understood.
Dr Schreiber's main interest is in the impact of shifting a person’s understanding and experience of themselves. As a result, people often find they have more space in their mind to respond to life challenges differently. She values honesty, curiosity and compassion in her work.
