The focus of the group is on dealing with race and inequalities issues which impact on mental health. The group will have an opportunity to explore issues around unconscious bias and white privilege. The group uses CBT and mindfulness approaches as well as Solution focussed therapy practices. The aim is to support the Group in reflecting on their experiences and identifying coping strategies and solutions which they can implement and then evaluate within the group in safe space.

The Group will explore and identify some of the beliefs, values and behaviours individuals/organisations engage in their struggle to reformulate their views and challenge their own prejudices. They will also identify where they are in terms of their awareness of understanding and responding to racism.
