I work with people for whom emotions and experiences are not easily expressed with words. My clients often have complex conditions, working through anxiety, isolation, low self-esteem, difficulties with communication or simply a sense of feeling stuck, and are looking for a way to connect that doesn't rely on talking alone. Many come to me because traditional talking therapy wouldn't be, or hasn't been, the right fit — and are curious whether a more creative, sensory approach might be more accessible and effective.
Music Therapy offers an alternative way into therapeutic work. My aim is to get to know you as you are, and to use music — improvising, songwriting, interactive games, or simply listening and reflecting together — to help you feel heard, understood and be more expressive. No musical experience is needed. The pace and focus of sessions are always led by you.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to hear from you. I'm aware that starting therapy, especially one that might feel unfamiliar, can be daunting, so I offer a free initial phone consultation and one-off paid introductory sessions. This gives you a low-pressure way to get a sense of who I am, the space I use and if my approach to therapy feels right for you.

Many of my clients self-fund, but I also help those who are eligible to access local authority funding for sessions. I also signpost to charitable funding where available, most recently through the Music for Oliver Foundation and Jessie's Fund, which can help to subsidise the cost of sessions.

I don't have a 'typical client.' I often work with people who experience barriers to communication, high anxiety, or social isolation. This includes neurodivergent clients, and those with learning disabilities, who may have struggled with talking therapies and want a different form of support. I also work with older adults, including those living with dementia.

I work in a non-directive, person-centred way, taking my lead from the client each session. Their mood, energy and ideas shape what we do. Using improvisational music therapy, sessions often involve live, in-the-moment musical interaction and games, creating space for authentic, spontaneous engagement. I also offer structured activities and routine for those who need it.
