I work with children and young people who are experiencing emotional difficulties and are struggling with their mental health. I have a Master’s degree in Integrative Child Psychotherapy and, together with years of experience of working within NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, I am able to support children and young people with a variety of presenting needs including trauma, anxiety and depression. Recognising that children’s lives are rooted in their family, I also offer a supportive space for parents and carers to think together with me about presenting concerns. Parent sessions can be online.
My relationship-based, creative approach to therapy is child-centred. I support safe exploration and expression of difficult thoughts and feelings using PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy). Sand-tray work, puppets, clay, movement, art, play, music and talking are just some of the ways we might work together towards positive change.
I fully recognise the importance of finding the right therapist for your child as the therapeutic relationship in itself can be a vital part of supporting change.
