Psychodynamic Psychotherapy focuses on how we understand ourselves, our relationships and our past and present. A psychodynamic approach considers unconscious aspects - those things we are less aware of, but which can shape our lives - using interactions between patient and therapist to understand patterns in other relationships.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy can be helpful with difficulties which are longstanding, repetitive and hard to resolve. It differs from most other therapies in aiming for deep seated change in personality and emotional development, by uncovering the root causes of challenges you are facing.
