My name is Helen and I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. I have a compassionate, patient, and thoughtful approach, and value a person-centred ethos to guide therapy. I have a total of 10 years’ experience in community and inpatient mental health services, supporting children, adults, and older adults with a range of mental health and neurodivergent needs. My background includes CAMHS, adult services, and psychological therapy for NHS staff. I offer therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, and behaviours that challenge linked to the unmet needs related to learning disabilities and/or autism.
I use evidence-based psychological models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and EMDR (currently in training). I am also informed by relational models, helping us understand the impact of early relationships and how we connect with others and ourselves.
The saying “The best way out is through” certainly applies to psychological therapy. While the process can feel daunting and effortful, I work safely and collaboratively with clients at their own pace, offering a steady and supportive space for healing, growth, and self-exploration.
