About
Clients of all ages come to me with a range of issues and experiences – family difficulties, loss, anxiety, low mood, trauma … and just as often with more general feelings of unease and isolation that can be hard to pin down with words. Clients often appreciate space to reflect on their identity and their place in the world. One of the greatest privileges in my work is to support families working through past and present hurts to heal relationships, through empathy and authentic communication. I am experienced in working with foster carers and children in care, using an approach informed by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
I collaborate with my clients to find an approach which is most appropriate to them – whether that is talking, working creatively, or symbolic work in the sandtray. I also offer attachment-focussed therapy, which focusses on healing through nurturing the relationship between parent/carer and child.
All this focus on relationship just highlights how important it is that you find a therapist you feel comfortable with. I am always happy to have an initial chat on the 'phone or via video link so you can get a sense of what it might be like to work with me.
