I work mainly with school aged children who are struggling to manage their emotions and behaviours at home and in school which may be due to many outside influences, early years traumas, environmental difficulties etc. Clients come to Play Therapy sessions to find a safe, supportive space where they can use their natural language of Play to work through their difficulties, in a non-judgemental, child-led environment, gaining understanding of their difficulties and finding ways to manage these for a more settled and healthier future.
Play Therapy is child led. The therapist greets the child as they arrive to each session without judgement, offering a safe space where a trusting relationship can grow to allow the child to feel safe and supported while they work through their difficulties in search of resolution.
In a safe, confidential and well set up space, your child can play, using art and craft, sand, music, role play and story telling to explore their difficulties in a safe supported way. Each client brings a different set of needs which are met and supported through play.
