About
Welcome to you and thank you for reaching out. It is a brave step to seek support. I will work with you to create a safe space where you feel comfortable and supported. It takes courage to work on your lived experiences and first we'll create safety in the therapeutic relationship so you can explore what is troubling you. Maybe you do not have words for your experiences and would feel safer exploring with art materials before you are able to say what is on your mind. Art therapy is a container for previously unmanageable emotions and painful thoughts or experiences which are often stored in the body as tension, stress or overwhelm.
My experience as an art psychotherapist draws upon psychodynamic theory, sensorimotor art therapy, cognitive approaches, and trauma-informed practice, so you can address emotional issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, physical or emotional pain, and adverse childhood experiences in an effective way. I use solution-focused goal setting so you can move forward.
Maybe your coping mechanisms no longer support you or you seek a new way of being in the world. Maybe you want to understand the journey that has brought you here today and create changes. If you have any questions about getting started or continuing your therapeutic process, we can explore where you are and where you want to be in a safe and contained way.
