Working in York city centre, I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor offering support to adults with a wide range of issues. Perhaps anxiety, depression and low self-esteem are impacting on daily life. Maybe you are struggling with changes or decisions that feel out of your control. You may need a safe space to heal after distressing life experiences. Difficult or abusive relationships can leave us confused about what is abuse, gaslighting or coercive control. I aim to provide a safe and confidential space where we can work together to help you make sense of your experiences, thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for you.
Drawing on counselling approaches most suited to your needs, we will work in a way that is tailored to you. Having worked for a Specialist Sexual Violence and Domestic Abuse Counselling Service, Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service, General Counselling Organisations and Privately, my experience includes working with trauma, flashbacks, anxiety and self-harm.
I will not give advice or opinions, but we will work together to build a therapeutic relationship where you can feel assured you are believed and that your thoughts and emotions are heard and understood with respect and without judgement. You will decide whether we work together long-term or short-term, depending on your needs and goals.
