It can be hard to live in our own heads. Worries, fears, sadness and feelings of inadequacy can make it feel like we are swimming against the tide. Our psychological difficulties may have been with us for a long time or may have started more recently. Whatever our mental health concerns, psychological therapy is an opportunity to change our relationship with our minds: a place to learn the skills to cope better with what life may throw at us, and a chance to find the inner resources that we all have, to allow us to move towards living a more fulfilling life.
I have experience of working with a wide range of mental health presentations in both the NHS and private practice. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, that is goal oriented and time-limited. As such, I use both Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I offer a warm and compassionate environment where my aim is for you to feel comfortable discussing any of your difficulties with me. We will work together to identify your goals for therapy and then devise a plan to work towards those goals. I will then check with your throughout our therapy to ensure that our work is progressing in a helpful way.
