My name is Dr Hawa Yatera. I hold a PhD in Public Health and am a qualified therapeutic counsellor, registered with the BACP. I provide counselling and psychotherapy to individuals in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK and Online. I offer a wide range of therapeutic counselling methods focusing on person-centred integrative approaches. I possess excellent knowledge, skills, and 15 years of experience working in primary care and community public health interventions, in the university setting as a research associate and in the voluntary sector, where I have served as a community health promoter, advisor and educator.
I am interested in addressing social determinants of health. Observing the struggle with mental health and social inequality exacerbate the well-being of individuals, especially those who experience traumas or overwhelming levels of stress and anxiety, drove my attention to counselling and psychotherapy services. Empathy and Non-judgmental are my essentials
Understanding of difficulties that can arise following an experience of a person's trauma, life transition periods, or life in general. I have experience in helping people work through personal issues and trauma, anxiety, fear, frustration, stress, loneliness, illness, anger, and low self-esteem.
