I am a doctor, who worked for 25 years for the NHS in Sexual Health and realising how important the emotional life was in the experience of sex and sexual problems, I undertook training in Psychosexual Medicine and then ran NHS psychosexual Clinics for 20 years.
Sex involves our emotions as well as our bodies and problems can arise both from physical problems, emotional responses or a combination of the two. I offer a non-judgemental, empathetic space in which to explore these difficulties and can provide support and guidance.
I have also worked with survivors of rape and am trauma informed.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming.
Sometimes we get stuck repeating the same negative patterns of thinking and behaviour.
Sometimes we are dealing with traumatic experiences that can feel unbearable.
And sometimes we just feel disconnected - unseen and unheard.
Recognising when things are not OK and reaching out for support takes real courage. Counselling provides that confidential and safe space where you can explore your innermost thoughts, feelings and behaviours with a warm and empathetic listener who accepts and supports you without judgement.

Starting therapy can be daunting so it’s important that you identify a therapist and an approach to working that feels right for you. As an art psychotherapist, I am open, honest and inclusive with considerable experience supporting children, adolescents and young adults in schools and community settings. My approach to working is psychodynamic - I’m interested in how past events may have affected you, both consciously and unconsciously, influencing the way you think, feel and behave. Should talking about your experiences be too difficult, I may encourage you to try different creative techniques as an alternate means of expression.

My clients are often men who feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed. Young men unsure how to live or struggling to understand who they are. Midlife men wondering what’s next, carrying regrets about what they have—or haven’t—done. Men struggling with anxiety and heading for burnout, moving through life at a pace which is too fast to notice.
Therapy with me is different. It’s in person, not clinical—more human. No waiting rooms, no pressure. Just space to slow down, speak freely, and reconnect. Together we will work to make sense of what matters and help you feel less alone.

You may be a parent watching your child struggle with big emotions, anxiety or withdrawal, and feeling unsure how to help. Perhaps confidence has dipped, sleep feels unsettled, or everything seems harder than it used to be. Or you might be a young person who appears to be coping on the outside, but inside feels anxious, low, overwhelmed or not good enough. You want things to feel calmer, clearer and more manageable. You may have been trying to manage it on your own for a while, or noticed that things have not quite settled after a stressful experience. Perhaps things feel stuck, despite everyone trying their best.

I work with adults from all backgrounds with a particular interest in working with men who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in their head. Many of the people I work with struggle with overthinking, lack of direction, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others.
My approach is practical and action-focused. We focus on building structure, taking responsibility, and developing resilience so you can move forward with clarity and a stronger sense of control. Alongside this, we develop emotional awareness so you can better understand what’s driving things beneath the surface and respond more effectively.

The idea of seeking counselling or psychotherapy can feel like a daunting prospect. However, sometimes we can face struggles in life that seem too difficult to cope with alone. It takes courage in taking the first steps to seek help and support. My personal philosophy is that we are all complex unique individuals with our own needs, but sometimes these needs get distorted as we try to fit in and be accepted by others, or we simply become lost in the "busy-ness" of our lives.
I am a highly experienced BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with over 15 years experience working with a wide range of clients and their issues.
