Hello, I’m Gillian, a Play and Creative Arts Therapist for children, based in West Yorkshire.
I support children to make sense of issues such as low self esteem, angry feelings and anxiety, through play - the child’s language. I am a trauma informed therapist and am able to support children who have a history of difficult and traumatic experiences. I work closely with parents and carers in finding ways to support the young person and improve their overall wellbeing. I specialise in working with children between 4 and 14.
My friendly and accepting approach uses play and creative arts such as drawing and sand tray therapy to allow the child to explore feelings and experiences in a way that feels most comfortable to them. My approach is child centred and focussed around their interests.
