How many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years have you spent wanting to change the way you live your life? How many different methods have you tried to silence your inner critic ? But failed because self doubt, guilt, anger, shame, procrastination or fear has kept you psychologically paralysed? How many times have you told yourself that you are going to stop your self destructive behaviour, only to find yourself embroiled in the same self defeating habits the next day, week or month? Do you see yourself ebbing further and further away from your life goals, dreams and ambitions?

Most clients that I see are suffering with anxiety, depression and stress. Most of this is caused by underlying issues such as low self-esteem, relationships issues and addiction to name a few. We're often aware of what our problems are but do not feel able to cope and need some support. Distressing situations and feelings can have such a destructive impact on our lives and therapy works by accepting your feelings, helping you to gain a different perspective, whilst challenging old negative beliefs; so you can move forward with a happier and healthier outlook on life.

My main approach is to encourage you to explore your feelings and take responsibility for your thoughts and actions. As I work in a way that empowers the client, I always work with what you present. Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief, jealousy, sadness, shame and pain can become very overwhelming. The opportunity to express them can make it much easier to understand yourself and others. As I acknowledge your feelings and respect you as a person in your own right, you gain self-respect and a sense of being valued. This leads to building trust between counsellor and client, which is an essential part of the process.

I work with all kinds of people and all kinds of issues. From mild anxiety to domestic abuse. Whether you are male, female, young or old. What matters most is that you want to invest this time and space for yourself and for your own healing. I can help you recognise any destructive patterns which don't serve you well and how you can break these patterns. If you would like to understand yourself or your relationships better, we can work together to get you the answers you are looking for. My aim is to help you see and harness the power you already have within you, so you can take back control and keep moving forwards.

I am an integrative counsellor using three core modalities - person-centered, gestalt and TA.
There are times when life is distressing, overwhelming or challenging. While we can't change what has happened to us, understanding our responses to these experiences and events can help us deepen our self-awareness and explore how we can change and move forward. As a humanistic counsellor, I will work closely with you to establish a warm, trusted and supportive relationship where you can feel safe and supported, to express your innermost feelings, thoughts and vulnerabilities. We will work at your pace, with you as the expert on you/your experiences, facilitated by my expertise in therapeutic counselling.

I also recognise life can be tough and sometimes overwhelming. No one type of therapy suits everyone so I deliberately integrate a number of approaches into my work to suit each individual's needs. I offer in person and online therapy (using Zoom or Teams).

Gestalt counselling works with you, the person, not with any diagnosis or label you may have been given.
Talking to someone who really hears and understands you can be the first step of the journey towards positive change. Maybe you're feeling low and don't know why? Maybe you are trying to overcome big life events and everything has changed around you and you need some support? Perhaps you just don't know why you can't sleep, or why your tears surprise you and you want to know more? The good news is that Gestalt counselling can help.

I use various modalities in my work, depending on my client's needs, from Psychodynamic approaches through Humanistic, Gestalt, Existential to Transpersonal and Jungian concepts.
LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE. THE TIME IS NOW. I have named my website as the Sacred Voice Therapy, because I truly believe we all have that innermost voice within us. Some call it "gut feeling" others "intuition". However we "label" it, it is always there for us to access it. Are you looking for a long lasting Change? Are you questioning the point of it all? Are you curious about your full potential? Do you want to live your life boldly and fully? Do you have questions around true emotional intimacy? Are you wondering about your inner peace and equanimity?

I'm trained in Humanistic Counselling (which entails Transactional Analysis, Gestalt & Person-Centred Counselling), life coaching & hypnotherapy.
It's challenging to have a human experience because of the social conditioning. Also, it's fascinating to be a human because the more you know about yourself, the better choices you can make & the more you can appreciate life. As per conditioning, we think that ther're “good” and “bad” feeling but once we educate ourselves on the emotional level, we realise that somatic sensations, emotions & feelings are important messengers acting as an internal compass. If you decide to work with me, I promise to show or remind you how to use the internal impulses to your benefit & for a much wholesome life.

What is gestalt therapy?

Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that to address unresolved negative feelings, emotions must be not only discussed but also actively expressed in the present moment. The term is from a German word meaning “whole,” and gestalt therapists believe that people should be considered whole entities made up of mind, body, and emotions. Gestalt sessions are rooted in the notion that a client’s total self must be discovered, explored, and confronted, so that they can take greater responsibility for themselves and their behaviour, learn to satisfy their own needs while still respecting the needs of others, and reconnect with feelings they might otherwise deny.

How does gestalt therapy work?

Gestalt therapy sessions do not just involve talking with a therapist. Clients may take part in role-playing, re-enactment, or artistic exercises like drawing and painting, with the goal of becoming more aware of negative thought patterns that limit happiness. One common gestalt exercise is “the empty chair,” in which a client sits across from an empty chair representing a partner, relative, boss, or a part of themselves—and, with the therapist’s encouragement, improvises a dialog with it. The intention is to bring the emotions raised by past conflicts into the present and work through them in the moment.

How long does gestalt therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for gestalt therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. New patients should understand that it may take some time to become comfortable with gestalt exercises but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions.

Does gestalt therapy work?

Gestalt therapy has generally been found to be as effective as other forms of talk therapy in helping people living with anxiety, depression, phobias, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders, as well as helping individuals reduce conflict in relationships. Gestalt techniques, on their own or in combination with other therapies, can also be effective in managing physical ailments including ulcerative colitis, migraines, and back spasms. It should be noted that some people may have trouble adapting to gestalt therapy’s lack of formal structure or to a therapist’s close observations of their body language and emotions; others may struggle to commit to techniques that feel unnatural, like the empty chair exercise.
