I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years experience working with adults in both the NHS and private practice. Crises are often important moments in our lives that signify the need to make changes. These times can indicate that old ways of coping or patterns in relationships and behaviour are now no longer working. I offer a non-judgemental reflective space to support individuals to increase understanding and insight into their difficulties and to identify the changes they wish to make. I specialise in working with substance abuse, trauma, sexual issues, codependency and positive approaches to menopausal transition.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of psycho-emotive (grief, anger, sadness, hopelessness) and behavioural problems (aggression, addictions, relationship issues), including sexual difficulties and trauma. I aim to build a trusted relationship with clients, honour their strengths and work with them towards their goals with warmth and honesty.
Life can be tough! Post- pandemic and in the internet age human distress and struggles with a range of painful and problematic feelings and behaviours has increased, I engage in continuous professional development to ensure that I am up to date with current, evidence based approaches and so can offer treatments tailored to fit the individual.
