I have been working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist for over 26 years. I believe that the most important aspect in any therapeutic process is the relationship between the client and the therapist. Through the use of our relationship, I would aim to help you work through the issues you are bringing, regardless of how difficult they might appear to be. Using the trust between us, I would aim to help you come to an understanding for yourself of internal and interpersonal difficulties that have been around with a view to being more accepting of yourself in relation to yourself and others around you.
I m often asked what my 'speciality' is. Well, I don't really like the term, because it suggests that some things are more then others. If I had to say what it is, I would say it is about being in a relationship with another human being trying to understand the issues that they want to work on.
I will aim to understand you as best I can so that you can experience being with someone who truly tries to understands you so that you can feel heard and accepted for who you are. I would aim to do this through care, concern, empathic understanding with a desire to help you work through what it is you need to in order to lead a more self-accepting life.
