The work is in the art of holding- As a therapist working in this area, I have capacity respond to postpartum distress in a way that facilitates a successful alliance. I have real passion and devotion to this work spanning over 20 years working in the perinatal maternal mental health of women, fathers and their babies. Alongside my skills is the heart of the therapeutic relationship and the mothers journey towards wellness.
psychodynamic therapy provides a space to explore and understand how the unhelpful patterns from our past may be affecting our difficulties.
I provide a space to talk about feelings, worries, anxiety, depression in this vulnerable period for the mother and in the relationship with her baby. To talk about this new relationship with your baby, to learn, to grow. To know that good enough is good enough. That you do not need to do this alone. You are not your symptoms.
An essential part of therapy is that I have never stopped staying connected to the maternal mental health and infant mental health community. I am always updating and reaching out to others working within this area. I have never lost my commitment and loyalty to this field of mothers, fathers and babies.
