I work with clients to address trauma, anxiety, low mood & depression. I'm experience around adoption & foster care. I’ve been a counsellor for 4 years & have worked in mental health roles for more than 20.
I’m trained in the Human Givens approach focusing on meeting your emotional and physical needs in order to feel well. It is an approach that draws on the latest research in psychology, neuroscience, & on proven techniques from a wide range of modalities in counselling and psychotherapy.
I work with people at times when life feels difficult or they feel stuck in unhelpful patterns of thoughts and behaviours. I can support following trauma - using the rewind technique. I use a range of skills to help calm and settle the strong emotions and difficult thoughts and feelings that can follow trauma.
Previous clients have found it helpful to be listened to without judgement and to learn practical skills and techniques to calm strong emotions.
