I work integratively, my training was in existential psychotherapy. This means I believe that life is naturally going to present struggles and that we need to navigate our way through life's givens: loneliness, anxiety and death are all givens of our life. I believe that the goal of therapy is to create space to reflect and align oneself with one's values and understand our limitations. I believe that trauma has a lasting impact on our bodies and minds, and that through understanding the mind-body connection, healing can ultimately take place. I currently hold a post working in GP practices with the NHS.
I offer supportive psychotherapy and existential psychotherapy which is more long-term. I have a special interest in working with people who have social anxiety and problems relating to others. I also have deep interest in working with people who have experienced psychosis, and related illnesses. Furthermore I have extensive experience working with trauma.
Finding the right therapist can be a daunting process. This is why I offer an initial 30 minute phone call prior to commencing therapy. Taking the step to commit to psychotherapy is an act of courage, and I treat it as such. I have a strong network of therapists that I am happy to refer on to if it feels like they would be more beneficial to you.
