My previous employment has informed my current practice; leaning towards a special interest in adoption and attachment issues, as well as family dynamics.
I am an integrative trauma-informed Psychotherapist, drawing from a variety of therapeutic models to suit each individual I work with. I work relationally, focusing on you and your needs whilst facilitating a safe, judgement-free space enabling you to bring whatever you feel you can in the moment. I believe that the basis to any therapeutic relationship is trust and connection, and this creates a position from which we can begin our work collaboratively. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress at work, attachment issues, or relationship difficulties, these can be as a consequence of past traumas or adverse childhood experiences.

If you are struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, or an inner restlessness you can't seem to quiet, you might be facing the effects of past traumas, including sexual abuse, childhood neglect, or early attachment issues, as well as transgenerational, collective or pre-birth trauma, that ripple through your everyday life. If your goal is profound healing — to finally feel at ease within your own skin and to unlock the potential that lives in you, you have taken the first step into building a new version of yourself.

Is life overwhelming and you need to talk to someone? Maybe you need help to develop coping strategies for your anxiety? Whatever challenges you are are facing, I offer a confidential and supportive space to explore your feelings. Being heard and seen in this space, without judgement can be deeply healing. I won't give advice but I won't sit and say nothing either. Instead, I will ask questions and offer other perspectives, enabling you to consider your troubles in depth, and giving you an opportunity to explore what you can do to move forward. I can also suggest ways to help manage panic attacks, and feelings of anxiety and anger.

I am an accredited psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults, couples & young people 16+. How we relate to one another and to ourselves impacts how we think, feel and function. Anxiety, internal criticism, low self-esteem, depression thrive if we're not heard, understood and valued. I work to shed light on how our relationships past and present shape us and how we can get stuck repeating patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us. I offer a safe space to look at what is not working. Together we'll seek to make sense of your experience, find new insights and perspectives, enabling you to move forward on your own terms.

I believe that life is a gift; yet, at times, it can feel quite the opposite. Sometimes, we can feel overwhelmed by our difficulties. Often, a trained, non-judgmental and objective ear can help order one's thoughts, challenge ingrained patterns of behaviour, and manage emotions.

I have worked as a counsellor, psychotherapist and coach for almost 20 years so I have gained a very broad experience of people's issues and needs. I work with individuals and couples. I offer help and guidance into how we become more comfortable with who we are, where we come from and what we desire from our lives in the future....how we fit into the World. This may be as an individual or as part of a couple relationship. I find that anxiety and stress affect so many people in their working and private lives - especially presented with the challenges of trying to live happily in an immense city such as London.

Knowing how to communicate your needs, desires and concerns is essential to grow personally and to live a satisfying life. Anxiety invoking circumstances, traumatic experiences and new challenging situations may, however, make it difficult to connect to yourself and/or to others.  As an integrative counsellor who works with young people and adults, I provide a warm, empathic and non-judgemental environment inviting you to work with me in a collaborative way. While it can be unnerving to seek counselling, it is about your desire to want to change things for the better and your courage to engage on a deeper emotional level.

Family Therapy Counsellors

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
