My Background: I began my career as a psychotherapist 10 years ago when I completed a degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Family-Couple Therapy.
“We almost always have choices, and the better the choice, the more we will be in control of our lives“. In my counseling sessions, I am committed to create a safe, warm, non-judgmental and confidential space within which you can freely address life's difficulties in a creative and meaningful way. My approach is integrative, derived from different therapeutic methods including third-waves cognitive therapy (such as schema therapy and ACT) and Mindfulness-based therapy. I also apply psychoeducation in order to optimise the effectiveness of my therapy sessions including self-awareness, anger management and stress management skills.

Together, we will create a warm family environment to welcome your child just the way they are, whatever their and your walk of life or family constituency. In this warm, safe bubble, your child can lead us to where we need to be in terms of understanding, empathising, hearing and feeling. They can shed a light on where they are hurting, and then we can attend and heal. This is in the wider context, that of your cultural and religious background. Cultural sensitivity lies in the heart of all I do, for I too arrive here to the UK. Check out my thesis, 'Navigating Home in Refugeedom and Navigating Refugeedom in Adolescence, Alone'.

Choosing a professional to help you can be a stressful process. Many people have heard of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy but aren’t sure what it involves, and don’t know whether they need CBT, counselling or something else. That’s not a problem - I will provide an initial phone consultation to answer questions, discuss what you are looking for and establish whether CBT or counselling would be most beneficial for you. I specialise in neurodivergence, providing reports and letters for clients who are needing an ADHD referral via their GP, and providing specialised CBT and ACT for ADHD and emotional regulation problems.

Therapy can be more than just a space to discuss difficulties, it can be a place of learning, healing, playing and growing. It can be a place where you can process the past, so that you're able to move forward into the life that you want to create for yourself.

I am an Integrative psychotherapist (MBACP) based in South West London, Fulham. I have a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling and I offer sessions both in-person in Fulham and via zoom. I would describe my practice as combining warmth with appropriate challenge. At times, I may do more than sit back and nod; I am not a blank slate or a traditional therapist. I believe in a therapeutic relationship that is genuine and in open and honest conversations.

What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
