I work with adults, adolescents and couples using different techniques and approaches such as Integrative Psychotherapy (the most flexible approach), Systemic and Family Therapy (most recommended approach for couples and family issues) and IPT (known to be faster than medication in mild to moderate depression).
With 15 years of experience and 16 years of training your worries and feelings will be safely handled. I have a genuine interest in helping people gaining more control over their emotions and anxieties while gaining a better understanding of themselves and the way they interact with the world. THERAPY CAN HELP and it can relieve you from emotional and cognitive suffering. Step by step, I will walk you toward the goals that you chose for yourself and help you overcome depression, anxiety, fear, family issues, low self esteem, couples issues and other emotional and cognitive difficulties so that you can use your full potential.

My experience spans over 25. Years working with adults, couples, and children, adolescents, I've successfully assisted individuals dealing with an array of challenges. This includes learning difficulties, intricate family dynamics, and providing support to young offenders. In addition to traditional therapy, I offer 'walk and talk' sessions, recognising the need for a dynamic and open environment. I integrate art and play therapy to foster creative expression.

We specialise in anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, trauma, addiction, and self-esteem.
If you’re considering therapy, it might be due to a rough patch that has turned your world upside down or a lingering feeling of being lost or stuck. You might be battling anxiety or depression, feeling the weight of old wounds in your current relationships, or sensing that life's just not what you thought it would be. These internal battles can be disorienting, making every day a little harder to face. In therapy, we will work together to shine a light on the patterns you are tired of repeating, the thoughts that keep you awake at night, and the feelings that might not have a name yet.

At the heart of my approach to therapy is a belief that the answer to life’s dilemmas is not ‘out there’ but within us. When we start to love and accept ourselves as we are, we can begin to feel more empathy for others, our relationships will improve, and we will find it easier to have the sort of life we want. It is my view that most people could benefit from therapy. It is a space where you can speak your mind without fear of upsetting friends or family. It is a chance to talk over problems with someone who is not going to be judgemental or tell you what to do. It is a place where you can consider your options and make choices.

My primary therapeutic grounding is in Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), an approach to change that’s solution focused, practical and geared towards achieving goals specific to your life circumstances and challenges you feel are holding you back. Over the years, I've done extensive professional training so I tailor my approach to each unique individual. My ideal client is curious, open to discussing and exploring ideas and keen to pursue lasting personal transformation. This a real challenge which takes great courage. Successful therapy requires some degree of trust in the process and collaborative therapeutic alliance.

Family Therapy Counsellors

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
