Dealing with many of life’s difficult issues and events such as bereavement, relationship breakdown, issues at work, with family or friends, uncertainty of the future or coming to terms with something from the past can leave us with feelings of stress, anxiety or depression.
I’m a registered Creative Psychotherapist who works extensively with talking therapy. I have 23 years experience working with individuals, groups and young people. Some of the issues I help people with are Anxiety, Depression, Abuse, Addiction and Breavement. I offer my therapy service online and face to face at my practice in London Bridge, as well as walk & talk. My aim is to always offer you a confidential environment where you will feel respected, safe and not judged. I work with you as an individual working towards a more settled and fulfilling life. I see each person as a unique being and I work with people, not with problems.

I have an integrative approach and use several modalities depending on what your therapeutic journey may need; Psychodynamic, Psychosynthesis, Internal Family Systems and Gestalt.
My name is Ella and I am a therapist based in the UK. You may be struggling with anxiety, social anxiety, stress, depression, overwhelm, feelings of loneliness, significant loss and grief. Maybe you are struggling with important relationships in your life. Perhaps your struggle is not that clear and you have a feeling that something isn't quite right. I can help. I have helped clients find confidence, clarity, understanding, self-esteem, a way to express themselves and find meaning in an increasingly demanding world. I also work with couples helping them to find ways to better communicate, to feel seen and heard by each other.

I am a trained clinical psychologist and I have also received training in Systemic Psychotherapy (a branch of Humanistic Psychology), Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Criminology. I have over for 14 years’ experience in therapeutic provision for women and their families. My great passion is a Gender Theory, on which I have also trained. I adhere to the systemic psychotherapeutic model: I use active listening to develop an environment of mutual trust, a safe and serene space for client and practitioner that allows for both to progress in the therapeutic process.

Certain life events, transitions, or longstanding struggles can cause our usual ways of coping to break down, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and extremely distressed. To continue to function, drugs, alcohol, food, self harm, sex, social media, a depressive state or abusive behaviour can be used to numb the distress or stand in for what feels missing. But this often leads to feelings of guilt, shame, anger or blame – whether of oneself or others. It can feel like being trapped in a loop of unsatisfactory or harmful relationships, or like reaching a dead-end, with confusion about finding a meaningful path ahead.

Hi, I’m Dr Jayde Dix! How are you? I am a clinical psychologist and I offer therapy to adults who are going through a difficult time or need some space to figure things out and move forward. It may be that you've been struggling with your mental health for a while now and have a clear problem you want some help with. Or, you might just want a hand with fine-tuning your wellbeing so it is the best it can be. Either way, I know it can feel complicated and difficult to reach out for help so I will share some information here to help you decide if we would be a good match.

Psychotherapy can support change if you are experiencing distress in establishing or maintaining family, intimate, social and professional relationships It can feel confusing, fearful and shameful when stress, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, illness and trauma interfere with our true personal expression and isolate us from others.
Hello, my name is Nicole. I’m a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor working with individuals and groups within the NHS and privately. I recognise the importance of our need for connection and how we relate or what interrupts us relating with each other. I place importance on the client and therapist relationship which can work as a model for you to experiment with new ideas about relationships, explore the dynamics of your relationships and sustain mutually satisfying relationships with others, as essential to your health and well-being.

Family Therapy Counsellors

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
