Hello, I’m Esther, a children's Play Therapist and Person-Centred Counsellor based in Poole, Dorset. With warmth, calm and empathy, I offer a safe space and trusting relationship, in which children can explore their feelings and difficulties at their own level and pace; difficulties, which may be impacting wellbeing, self-esteem, family life, friendships or engagement with learning. My driving passion is providing early help for young children, to strengthen resilience and prevent significant mental health difficulties as they grow.
I’m a registered member of Play Therapy UK and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and my practice is governed by the standards and Ethical Framework shared by both. The ability to integrate play therapy and counselling skills allows me to adapt to the unique strengths and needs of each child as their therapy unfolds.
If talking is difficult, play therapy empowers children to explore feelings & experiences through their natural language of play & creativity, without any pressure to find words or answer questions. My playroom has a huge choice of toys, games and creative resources so every child can find what they need to express themselves in a way that's right for them.
