I have experience in private practice and in the NHS, working with individuals from very diverse backgrounds with a wide range of issues. Some of my areas of interest include: anxiety, depression, repeating patterns of behaviour, relationship difficulties, loss, long term emotional problems, a lack of fulfilment or meaning in life. You will have the opportunity to explore the root causes of the psychological difficulties that you may be experiencing in the present and helped to find more satisfying strategies for coping with problems that arise in the future.
As a psychoanalyst with the British Psychoanalytic Association, I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy (up to 3 sessions per week) and psychoanalysis (4-5 sessions per week). This work is generally long term and open-ended. In the initial consultation you will be helped to decide how many weekly sessions will be most beneficial to start with.
My psychoanalyst training is unique in South Kent. We will be able to begin working face-to-face and explore the additional option of progressing on to working more deeply, up to 5 sessions a week, using the psychoanalytic couch. My approach offers a journey of self discovery not generally available in our area of Kent.
