I believe in the power of opening up, and while I will draw on theory and knowledge to support each individual client, I am led by the client and their individual needs. An ideal client is someone who wishes to build a therapeutic space alongside me, allowing me to facilitate safety and build trust. I am experienced at working with complex mental health needs, therefore I begin by creating a formulation of the problem with the client, and collaboratively establish their needs and personal goals. i am interested in helping others to learn about themselves through relational dynamics they experience.
I have worked as a counsellor since 2013 in private practice with diverse populations, and as a ward psychologist on an acute ward since 2016. I practice integrative therapy, using psychodynamic theory to offer relational therapy. I incorporate EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness and Compassion Focused theory in counselling, centred around the therapeutic relationship.
I offer clients a safe, confidential space to process their experience without judgement. I take a compassionate individualised approach to assessment and formulation, helping clients to draw upon resources to better understand themselves and their experiences through psychological formulation.
