I help adults handle trauma, grief and big life changes through weekly/fortnightly sessions or Therapy Intensives. Are you anxious, overwhelmed, blindsided by life events or exhausted from pretending everything’s fine in your life, work or relationships? Are you struggling to push down past trauma, only for it to push right back up? Maybe you’re flooded with too many emotions at once, so numb that you barely feel anything at all, or you’ve lost a sense of who you are? If you don’t know where to start or find it too daunting to tackle alone, I’m here to help process what’s painful or confusing.

My aim is to help my clients live more fulfilling and positive lives. I offer a safe space where they can share their problems and receive support. Clients are met with warmth, acceptance and positivity, and their challenges are listened to and properly understood. I offer both individual and couples counselling. With individual clients, we will work to understand the origins of current challenges – like anxiety, negative thinking and depression – and develop better coping mechanisms. With relationship counselling, I help the couple to reconnect and build a stronger, healthier and sustainable relationship.

Confidential and effective therapy for all kinds of problems Help for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, loss, bereavement, OCD, anger management, weight issues, body image and more.
I see clients with many issues, although many have their roots in bereavement and/or childhood, with which I have a great deal of experience working with. My philosophy is that one must be careful not to just deal with the symptoms, but to ensure that the cause is understood and resolved as well.

Events from the past can impact your life now, resulting in anxiety, depression, anger or shame.
Working on-line primarily, with some limited face to face availability currently, I provide a warm, accepting environment. An authentic, confidential and secure atmosphere for therapy allows the opportunity to explore, understand and work towards your therapeutic goals, with the passion and humour I bring. Dealing with the "difficult stuff" is something we are all capable of avoiding. It needs to feel safe enough to talk about what can feel most vulnerable and hardest to put into words. My role is to create the atmosphere where there's trust in; not being judged, found too much or not enough, being heard and valued.

I believe all emotions have relevance, in particular anger, an often feared and a misunderstood human emotion.
Are you struggling or feeling lost and overwhelmed in your journey of life. You may have faced difficult challenges in your past or are currently facing difficulties navigating your life right now. . What would it be like for someone to see the world through your eyes, to offer a space where there is no judgements or criticism. Therapy offers a ‘safe’ space where you are heard, acknowledged and a space where you can explore your emotions. By reaching out for help can be a daunting task, however it takes courage to contact a therapist, by taking that step can lead to a positive outcome in your time of need. If you have any question

Hi, my name's Sarah and I'm a clinical psychologist. The decision to see a therapist can feel daunting and anxiety provoking. Please be reassured that this is absolutely normal. In a therapy session I will give you my support and the compassion that you may be needing at this time. I would like to help you by first gaining a good understanding of the difficulties that you are facing. Using my expertise (from many years of psychology training and work with clients), my aim would be to work with you to find a way forward that is going to enhance your life and enable you to live a life that feels richer and more fulfilling.

My professional and personal lived experience encompasses a range of issues, with particular focus on: anxiety; depression; grief; chronic illness; parenting/perinatal issues; relationship/family challenges; neurodivergence; school avoidance; low self esteem; and anger.
I trained integratively though primarily work from a person-centred perspective. This means I believe you are the expert on your own life and needs. However, I know from personal experience that this internal voice can sometimes feel lost or silenced.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
