My approach in sessions is centred on you, focusing on the here and now, current situations and difficulties you are experiencing. How you are feeling and behaving at present is often linked to past experiences which remain unresolved and continue to impact on your health and well-being today. Our sessions are based on respect, compassion, empathy and honesty. I will support you in exploring your reasons for wanting therapy, within a non-judgmental environment. By creating a safe, open and genuine relationship with you, we can together find ways to deal with the difficulties you are experiencing. The age range I work with is 18+.

Is there something on your mind? You want to talk it over with someone, but you’re not sure who. We all have hopes, dreams and aspirations that can sometimes be overshadowed by worries and traumas which can make us feel stuck at some point in our lives. You know it is getting in the way. You feel It is stopping you from being your true self. And now you want to do something about it. I can offer you a safe space and time to share your experiences with me. There are always alternatives and possibilities for you to explore. You can choose a future that’s right for you.

I specialise in supporting individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, low mood, trauma, PTSD, abuse, childhood issues, grief, anger, family challenges, and low self-esteem.
Life can feel really overwhelming sometimes. Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety that just won’t go away, the weight of something painful from your past, or the deep sadness of losing someone. You might feel stuck in patterns that aren’t helping, struggling with negative thoughts, self-doubt, or even flashbacks that bring up past trauma unexpectedly. Perhaps you’re finding it hard to sleep, constantly on edge, or feeling like your emotions are too much to handle on your own. I use a gentle, trauma-informed approach with tools like mindfulness and CBT to help you feel more balanced, confident, and ready to take on life again.

I specialise in narcissistic abuse, coercive control, anxiety and complex grief including losses that go unrecognised.
Perhaps you've been told you are too sensitive, too much, or not enough. Perhaps you've spent so long adjusting yourself to keep the peace that you're no longer quite sure who you are. Or perhaps you're a counsellor carrying the weight of complex client work and longing for supervision that genuinely meets the depth of what you bring. I am a nurse, midwife and counsellor with many years of clinical experience, and I offer both therapy and clinical supervision. I have spent my whole career sitting with people in some of life's most difficult moments; I do not shy away from the hard stuff and will meet you warmly wherever you are.

We all long to live well. But have you ever asked yourself what that truly means? You may have tried various self-help methods or even AI tools to improve your life, only to feel as though it’s like pouring a teapot of water over a burning house. You might find yourself caught in tangled thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that seem to repeat again and again. Perhaps you’ve asked, why is this happening, and how do I stop it? Yet nothing seems to work. You are in the right place. I offer a safe, yet honest space where we can look beneath the surface and, with surgical precision, forgive and release everything that no longer serves you

For example, we might use Gestalt therapy to explore your present difficulties, or Psychodynamic therapy to explore how your past is affecting you in the present. We may also incorporate CBT to uncover practical ways to manage challenges that you're currently facing. I specialise in supporting neurodivergent people and people that have experienced trauma. I'm autistic and ADHD myself, which provides an additional layer of insight and understanding when supporting neurodivergent people.

Domestic Abuse Counsellors
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognise that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
