I predominantly use ACT but am trained in CBT/DBT/CFT/EMDR (further details on website) and offer treatment based on an individualised formulation.
It can be tricky to choose a therapist and understand the various titles therapists go by and the different types of therapies on offer. I think one of the most important factors in choosing a therapist is the fit between the client and therapist and whether the relationship feels warm and empathic. My therapeutic style is to identify and build on existing strengths and to offer a supportive space to explore difficulties and patterns of behaviour. Having had my own psychotherapy, I am familiar with what it feels like to be on the receiving end of therapy and I am sensitive to this during my work. (Online only- not in person).

My approach is integrative, drawing from CBT, ACT, CFT, systemic and psychodynamic therapy that I have been trained on.
My therapeutic stance is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. Together we’ll make sense of what you’re experiencing, where these difficulties may be stemming from, identify patterns that keep you stuck & build practical strategies that support real change, while also paying attention to your values, relationships, and what matters most to you.

I understand that seeking therapy can be both comforting and daunting, but it can also be liberating and I commend individuals who reach out for help. Our pain can often be a message that there is something amiss in our lives, and I believe it is important that we listen to that message. Whether you are dealing with a difficult time in your life and need help managing the emotions and thoughts, I aim to assist individuals to better understand the relationship between their feelings and thoughts and explore ways to change maladaptive patterns.

My therapy approach focusses on awareness, acceptance and change.
If you’ve arrived here, you’re likely looking for support to help you make meaningful changes in your life. Perhaps you’re experiencing confusing emotions, struggling with your mental health, or feel that life has reached a point where things just aren’t working anymore. Maybe you feel lost, unsure of exactly what needs to change - but something in your gut tells you that things don’t feel right. The good news is, these kinds of experiences are incredibly common, and they’re exactly where therapy can help. It can empower you to understand what’s going on and begin to move forward.

To be known and understood by another person is a rare experience. Just as rare is finding someone prepared to listen to us without judgement, without making premature assumptions about us, or applying solutions before having heard us fully. Sometimes it takes someone else to draw out our courage, courage that is essential for us to honestly disclose who we are and the truth of our difficulties; courage to tackle our difficulties constructively and with resolve. Therapy is a partnership. It is about us agreeing to ‘put our heads together’ to obstinately attempt to find a new way forward and a way to psychological wellbeing.

I use an integrative approach combining CBT (in which I have trained to a Postgraduate level), ACT and IFS.
I offer a safe, non‑judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel understood. I’m a compassionate, person‑centred therapist trained in CBT, but I adapt to the person in front of me. I specialise in Anxiety, especially Panic, Worry and Phobia (including Emetophobia), and often support people who found pure CBT treatment packages too rigid. I also bring lived experience of depression, anxiety and ADHD, so I meet you with empathy and real understanding. It can be hard to find a therapist that you can click with, so the best way to see if we're a good fit is to have a free, no-obligations short chat over the phone.

Using evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), I help clients understand not just what is happening, but why—so change feels meaningful, not temporary.
Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR practitioner, working with adults who may appear to be coping on the outside—managing careers, relationships, families, and responsibilities—yet internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, self-critical, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to shift. I help people with: anxiety and chronic stress, obsessive - compulsive disorder, burnout and emotional exhaustion, perfectionism and self criticism, confidence and self-worth, relationship and communication patterns, life, career, and identity transitions.

I have specialist Trauma-focused CBT training, and Integrated CBT for chronic, long-term health conditions (i.e. IBS, chronic pain, cancer). With this I help my clients to manage the worry, anxiety, and hopelessness linked to their condition and adjust to the often challenging, unwanted life changes they can bring.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
