I have a specialist interest in supporting people through bereavement and related responses including depression, feelings of guilt, spirituality and exploring life without your loved one.
My main aim in life has and always will be to help people find peace and joy in their lives. This can be very difficult to source when life today is so challenging. Whether it is financial worries, loss of a loved one, disability, illness, family issues, bullying, work pressure, trauma, (amongst others) all can induce stress, depression and anxiety. Besides a wealth of life experience, I have a degree in Integrative relationship counselling, which enables me to work in a way to suit each individual and their issues. We will work together at your pace to find a healing path.

I have worked with most mental health issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement and relationship problems.
I understand how hard it can be to make that first contact and talk about what is troubling you. My aim is to support you by offering a warm, empathetic and confidential space to explore your feelings and thoughts which can bring insight, which in turn, can bring both growth and change. This can feel overwhelming at first but most people find it useful to talk to someone who is not part of their lives and where a therapeutic relationship can be established. You cannot change what has happened before but you are the expert in your life, no one else.

Have you been struggling with something which is interfering with you being able to get on with your usual things? Maybe you have been feeling down more than usual, or feeling very anxious and tired for a long time. Changes in your ability to sleep, eat or concentrate for a while could mean that you are depressed, or that anxiety is overwhelming you and stopping you from functioning properly. Life events such as illness, bereavement , divorce, trauma or even great events like becoming a parent or grandparent can create changes that are hard to cope with. If so, a therapist can help you to get back on your feet again.

I work using Zoom which allows you to access counselling from your own environment. This cuts out travelling time and may fit into a busy schedule. Even so, I recommend that you allow at least 15 minutes after sessions to think through what we have talked about. There is a need for you to create privacy so that we can speak freely and you are able to gain the most you can from the work we do together. Over the past seventeen years as a qualified counsellor I have helped clients with depression, addiction, codependency, anxiety, recovery from harmful relationships, bereavement and loss , trauma, family dynamics and workplace stress.

My specialisms include recovering from traumatic experiences, bereavement , dealing with anxiety & depression, anger managements, work based stress and stress management in general problems within intimate relationships.
Life will always present us with challenges and difficult situations. Sometimes these challenges can get on top of us and we stop living and enjoying our lives as fully as we would like. This is where counselling can be of help. Counselling is about offering a supportive relationship in a safe and confidential environment to talk through whatever is concerning them. Counselling is not about giving advice and counsellors can never be experts in other people’s lives. Counselling is about helping people find their unique strengths to work through a particular issue in the best way for them so that they can live a happy life.

We all experience difficult times in our lives, whether it be through trauma, loss , being diagnosed with a chronic/terminal illness, or life’s natural cycle of events. Maybe you’re not sure what’s causing you to feel like you’re struggling, sometimes we don’t know why we feel sad, angry, anxious or depressed together we can unravel things and look at how we can increase your resilience. Working in an integrative way I use different theoretical approaches to empower you to make to make the best decisions for yourself. I offer a safe therapeutic space where you can talk things over and to move forward and feel more fulfilled.

As a specialist mental health therapist I work with a range of difficulties that trouble children, such as anxiety, stress, low mood, fears, grief , school problems, low self esteem/confidence. Therapy offers children a space to make sense of their thoughts/feelings, work through their worries and find healthier ways to express themselves and manage the difficulties they experience at school and home. I help children to build their emotional resilience, a positive mindset and develop ways to help them feel calm, content and confident to cope with stress and life worries.

You may be feeling life is just too much to manage right now, perhaps you've had a bereavement or loss , or maybe something from the past is impacting on how you are feeling. Asking for professional help can feel daunting, but once you've made that decision, it can bring relief and then finding the right person, who can hear your concerns and support you, is really important. I can offer a safe, confidential space and give you the time and space to explore what is going on for you, to help you gain awareness and insight into what's troubling you and help you reach your goals.

I have experience working with a broad range of psychological and emotional issues, including depression, anxiety/stress and low mood, bereavement / grief and loss .
Are you experiencing a difficult or challenging time in your life? Perhaps you are feeling stuck and unable to move forward? Whatever your reason for considering therapy and viewing my profile, it is often the case that we 'hit the wall' or 'crash' emotionally before we can identify that we may need professional support. When our usual coping mechanisms no longer work the struggle can be overwhelming. As your therapist I recognise this as your first and critical step toward positive change. You are I'm sure familiar with the phrase 'if you do what you've always done...you get what you've always got' and how true it is.....

Bereavement Counsellors
Grief and Bereavement is the acute pain that accompanies loss. Because it is a reflection of what we love, it can feel all-encompassing. Grief is not limited to the loss of people, but when it follows the loss of a loved one, it may be compounded by feelings of guilt and confusion, especially if the relationship was a difficult one.
