My approach to therapy is friendly, respectful & totally non-judgemental. Primarily I use an Integrative Therapy based on TTM ( Transtheoretical Model of Change) based (between others) on your goals, readiness to change and the fact that ‘no one type of therapy fits all’. Psychoeducation about your symptoms, coping strategies (CBT and Mindfulness') will improve your everyday life and if you feel ready to work on the 'the roots' of the current difficulties- EMDR, Counselling and Attachment Theory would be something to explore. I adjust therapy to my clients and not the other way around.

As a gestalt counselor, I believe we are all born equipped with resources and ability to lead fulfilling lives. However, often during childhood or later in life, something interrupts this process and we become stuck in fixed patterns and beliefs about our selves that get in the way. I see my task as a counselor to help you see more clearly what your situation is, find out how you are part of it and experiment with finding new solutions or ways to face the difficulty. I have direct experience working with adults and young people from different cultural backgrounds.

Deciding to be here on this page and consider counselling is an incredibly brave thing to do. It takes courage to take that step towards change, whatever form that change takes. Sometimes we think we have to just get on with it, put on a brave face, and think that no one can really help. Does this sound familiar? If you would like to take a step towards change, do something differently, understand why you feel this way, then this could be the way to do it. Everyone is different, and I will work with you to really get to know your true self, exploring your thoughts, at your own pace, to find your own answers.

Are you having more bad days than good? Feeling fed-up, depressed, anxious or grieving and having trouble ‘to shake’ those difficult feelings? Perhaps you are feeling stuck or having trouble with your relationships? We can feel we ‘should’ be able to cope which can be make our differcult feelings more tough and feel very isolating for you too. I know how daunting it can be to share your thoughts and feelings with someone. Before becoming a therapist, I felt the same. Together can create a create a sanctuary, a place where you can ‘come as you are’ and share what is you are experiencing. A time and space, just for you

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
